Short answer: Florida mobile home insurance covers the home, attached structures, belongings and liability, with wind priced on the home's HUD wind zone, age and tie-down condition. Nymble Insurance writes manufactured homes of all ages in Florida, including pre-1994 homes that many carriers turn down, whether the home is in a park, on your own land, or rented out. What a Florida mobile home policy covers
- The dwelling, including built-on additions, carports and screen rooms if scheduled.
- Other structures, personal property, loss of use and liability.
- Optional replacement cost, trip collision for moves, and debris removal.
Flood is excluded; NFIP and private flood can cover manufactured homes on permanent foundations.
Why the year matters
Homes built after June 15, 1976 follow the federal HUD Code (24 CFR Part 3280). Wind standards were strengthened in 1994 after Hurricane Andrew, and much of coastal Florida is in HUD Wind Zone II or III (24 CFR §3280.305). Older homes are harder to place, which is why we have a dedicated pre-1994 mobile home page.

Florida licenses mobile home installers through FLHSMV (§320.8249). Carriers often ask for proof of proper anchoring. Our tie-down inspection guide explains what inspectors check.
Rentals, vacant and seasonal homes
Rented mobile homes need a landlord form, and seasonal homes left empty in summer need vacancy disclosure. See landlord insurance and vacant home insurance.
